New tripod head.?
It's time to replace the head on my primary tripod, does anyone have field experience with a grip action type head like the one in the link. I can see some advantages to it but how does it hold up in day to day use?

It's the spring tension load I'm worried about - will it still grip in 10, 15 20 years time...then again it is a Bogen - will I have enough grip in 20 years??
I've used both the one you linked and the one I've linked. I much prefer the one I've linked. Albeit, both grips are more convenient - in most circumstances - than the tradition 3-way heads and ball heads. But the problem w/ the one I've linked is its load capacity is 5.5 lbs. It's not suitable for my Mamiya C series gear nor my Canon F1 gear when using the extra long lenses. [I'm still using a Manfrotto 3-way head that I purchased circa 1975.] The one you've linked has a load capacity of 11.0 lbs. As to their durability; I have a camera club acquittance who has been using the one I've linked for at least 8 yrs. w/ Olympus DSLR gear. It will still hold my Canon F1, sans motor drive, but w/ flash and a 100-300mm lens (The lens is one of the newer lightweight lenses) at any angle. Since the one you've linked is the same mechanism w/ a different orientation I'm certain it will give you a long service life. As others have mentioned it is, after all, a Bogen product.

The Best Binoculars for Outdoor Activities
Outdoor activities have become one of the 1st selections for recreation these days. Since many folks spend the majority of their time inside company buildings, offices, and other multinationals performing everyday mundane tasks, going out for hunting, camping, fishing, sailing, and hiking are the best methods to unwind. Bringing a compact binocular with you during these trips would make it an even better experience. 2 compact binoculars will add a new dimension to any experience, and even to common-or-garden lives. Binocular technology has advanced to a point that there are more than one, two, or even three kinds around. However nowadays they are more modern, trendy, and tiny. The compact binocular can easily fit in a purse or a tiny pouch just like a mobile telephone would. However tiny, a compact binocular would not equal low quality optics. Very good optics can now be achieved even in a very small package. You do not want to consider the price either as it will not really cost an arm and a leg. What are binoculars for? The query of many city dwellers is to what and where should they use such a device. There are more uses such as for sports and special events. These cute devices are not meant for long distance viewing only. You may use them for scrutinizing a painting, a wall décor, a carving, or sculptures in a gallery. A binocular can boost your viewing experience. A must have accessory Without a doubt, a compact binocular is beginning to become a must have. Particularly these days when fun is something most of the people are used to, a compact binocular is worth an investment. Simply make certain to get a folding roof prism binocular, an action acute water-proof binocular, power view compact binocular, or simply a good pair of binocular to improve your viewing passion.
